Ok, so not really day 365 but it sure feels like it. Remember back when we were all on lockdown and in quarantine not going anywhere bingeing on every conceivable NetFlix or Hulu series on a daily basis. We were minimizing any trips to the grocery store and those felt like stealth secret missions. Some of us were juggling working from home and homeschooling our kids . We longed for the days to the end of lockdown and back to a “new normal” or what we thought that would look like in our heads before it actually happened and turned in to the $hit$how it seems to have become in many areas of the country including the state I live in.

The rollercoaster continues on as a never ending bad carnival ride where no one will let you off. One day it‘s good and improving, the next it’s bad. Can’t travel here without a 14 day quarantine but over there is ok. Not sure why people are so adamant about not wearing a mask but everyone seems to feel strongly about their stand on it no matter which side you are on regarding the subject. Mandates are implemented to protect but wondering if they will be enforced because everyone has different perceptions of where we are with this pandemic and what it means to each in their everyday world to stay safe. I have been glued to the news, trashed it, walked away from watching for weeks and then back again to see what will happen next. Restaurants will open and then close down due to threats of Covid in their establishments. Should you even frequent places that have most of the customers not wearing masks or if you have yours on and a travel size hand sanitizer is that enough to feel confident about staying safe.
It feels like we all have enough to worry about when a pandemic is not going on. Seems like now stress levels go up, come down, stay ”normal” but never seem to completely go away. Colleges have announced changes and plans for the Fall with some probably announcing too early. Makes me wonder if colleges will go back and change plans again keeping students on the edge of their seats waiting for a final ruling crossing their fingers. In other words, will on campus classes that have been decided on for some schools actually come to fruition come August.
Next week we move to the month of July which seems like just one big lump of time since February in between then and now. Many states have halted moving forward with back to normal business and in fact some have issued stricter guidelines. So here is my hope for July... Listen up because everyone is counting on you to be the month that turns things around and puts some order back into this craziness. We need July to show itself to be the month we will all remember as the time when people stopped getting sick, there was a breakthrough with a vaccine, no one again had to go on a ventilator to fight the virus, every person that contracted the virus recovered, people were as thoughtful about their neighbor as themselves, we once again looked forward to travel, stopped fearing the grocery store, could start to think about moving in to the next season with excitement and a month that is so full of goodness it allows college football to return once again to the football fields that make lasting memories for millions every Fall! In my case what that means is I get to hear the sacred words that make September one of my favorite months - “It’s Football Time in #Tennessee”. Did you get all that July? Ok, please don’t disappoint and I will be checking in on your progress each day! There are many people counting on you!!!!! ☮️
