I have always been fascinated by the style statement we make by the way we put an outfit together, accessorize it and carry it off. My first experience with this was watching my mom get ready for a special outing where I would watch her put together timeless classic outfits and accessorize them frequently with a pin or broach. I loved trying on her shoes and playing with her jewelry and scarves. This began a lifelong love affair with fashion and a not so subtle obsession with shoes with a touch of diva on the side.

Not too long ago I wrote a post on style icons who have influenced me early on up to the present. Each icon that I wrote about had or have their own unique ability to bring a mystique to the way they put an outfit together.

This is not a complete list as that would be way longer than anyone would care to read but these are some highlights with a focus on keeping it real. I could definitely get Haute Couture on you but don't want to tease myself like that.
Top Favorite Brands:
Modern Classics with clean lines and beautifully crafted leather products. I own a Cognac all purpose tote that is classic and modern
TB needs no introduction and I am a fan of her designs and have been for years.

A fashi0n and lifestyle brand punctuated with pops of color and design setting you apart from the crowd. Love her retail brick and mortar shops as well. Sophisticated, unique and fun.
Sara Blakely built an empire making women look thinner with her body shaping products from leggings to bras and more. If you haven't splurged on black #spanx leggings get out your wallet. You are missing out on a beautiful thing. Once you go Spanx you won't want to wear any other leggings. Thanks to Sara I am living my best life in the 15 plus black pairs I own.
A lifestyle and clothing brand eclectic as much as it is bohemian chic. It's hard to resist the whimiscal designs in their ready to wear or housewares. Always a staple in my wardrobe for unique one of a kind pieces at a very reasonable price point.
So how does this list compare with yours ? These brands reflect my personal style at different times depending on what I am doing or where I am going. What is your style? Minimalist, preppy, classicly tailored, athleisure type? Almost 50% of my wardrobe is black with key accessorizing to bring it together. Accessories can make or break your look depending how you style them. I also have a bit of a classic preppy style with timeless pieces I sometimes mix with more of the minute trendy pieces to keep it fresh. No matter what your style or how you put together a look the key is to stay in your lane. Don’t try to be a Carrie when really you are a Miranda!
